OUR STORY

HOW WE MET

We were fatefully assigned to the same section at Harvard Business School. This translates to many hours in the classroom together and most importantly, the same intramural teams.

THE FIRST DATE

After a long friendship, our first date was during second year when we attended a Boyce Avenue concert. We danced the night away and, naturally, a competition of who is the better dancer was born - you be the judge!

THE PROPOSAL

Overlooking New York City at The Dominick in our SoHo neighborhood...Brian got down on one knee. Celebrations continued at Adoro Lei (translation: I adore her) the next day with friends and family (and rare wins by both the Giants and the Knicks!).

WEDDING WEEKEND

SEPTEMBER 27

GOLF OPENER

We couldn't think of a better way to get the weekend started than welcoming you to join us for our favorite activity.

WELCOME DINNER AND DRINKS

Why stop the fun so soon? Head to the pub for 50+ craft beers on tap, including several with Iowa origins. Be a native and order the Red Rambler.

SEPTEMBER 28

HORSE AND CARRIAGE TOURS

10:00am - 3:00pm | Corner of Franklin St and Main St


Horse and carriage tours are definitely a must! Tours are approximately 30 minutes long and will take you on a breathtaking tour of Pella's historic landmarks and Dutch architecture.

WINDMILL TOURS

10:30am, 11:30am, 1:30pm | Vermeer Mill


Keep the fun going with a visit to the largest working windmill in the United States. Weather permitting, you'll be able to go all the way to the top! Tours on Saturday start at the times noted above.

* THE WEDDING *

5:30pm | The Poortinga Farm


And finally, the grand finale!

CEREMONY - will begin promptly at 5:30pm on the hillside.
COCKTAIL HOUR - immediately following the ceremony on the lawn.
CELEBRATION - dinner and dancing featuring Gen8 under the tent.
LATE NIGHT - more dancing featuring DJ Nick Russo in the barn.

ATTIRE: Black Tie Preferred (note the majority of wedding day events will be outdoors)

FAREWELL BRUNCH

To cherish our last moments together, all are welcome to join us for an open house brunch. We expect lots of hugs and recaps of the best dance moves seen throughout the evening.

AIRPORT

DES MOINES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

45 minute drive from Pella

There are limited direct flights to and from Des Moines (two on Friday from New York and one back to New York on Sunday to be exact). We encourage you to book asap before they sell out.

TRANSPORTATION

SHUTTLES

A shuttle will be provided from the Des Moines Airport on Friday, departing at approximately 2:00pm, to align with the 1:30pm arrival of a direct flight from New York to Des Moines on Delta.

A shuttle will also be provided from Pella to the Des Moines Airport on Sunday, departing at approximately 11:30am, to align with the departure of the 1:50pm direct flight from Des Moines to New York on Delta.

Anyone is welcome to hop on those shuttles! Please sign up in the Airport Shuttle RSVP section below to guarantee your spot.

Once in Pella, shuttles will be provided to and from all events, departing from The Royal Amsterdam, Baymont, and Holiday Inn Express hotels. More details will be posted here as we get closer to the event, as well as included in hotel welcome notes upon arrival in Pella.

RENTAL CARS

Uber and Taxis do not exist in Pella, as such, if you'd like more mobility beyond the shuttles, you may want to rent a car.

If you prefer a car service, we recommend Majestic Limousine who can assist with airport transfers. When you reach out, please share if you would like a private transfer or a shared ride with other wedding guests. THE KLOKKENSPEL

Designed and created for Pella, the carillon clock has eight, four-foot mechanical figures and 147 bell chimes that perform at regular daily intervals (odd hours between 9am and 7pm).

SCHOLTE GARDENS

Located on the town square, the beautiful Scholte Gardens are free and open to the public.

GOLF

For those flying in early, we will be doing a round of golf on Friday at the Pella Country Club. RSVP in section above.

THE WINDMILL

Visit the largest working windmill in the United States. Tour times on Saturday at 10:30am, 11:30am, and 1:30 pm.
